This was a traditional fruit cake recipe from Delia Smith.

I didn’t decorate it as it was for a birthday and not Christmas. But I still went to the trouble of soaking the fruit and adding brandy.

I made this cake about 4 weeks ahead of time. It is my husbands absolute favourite. For myself and my son to enjoy I’ll have to work on a gluten free version.
